Render Nodes - Information & Resources
Want to learn more about what render nodes are?
Rendering is the task of transforming your basic 2D illustration into a 3D design. It is a method commonly used in special effects, video games, and the proposal of new buildings in areas. Rendering affects the texture, lighting, and shading of an image to create the 3D effect. Rendering is performed by render slaves, also known as render nodes.
Render nodes are what make up the render farms that optimise the speed of the rendering of your image. They are individual computers (also known as render boxes) that receives a rendering task from the main Queue Manager, and completes it individually without the assistance of any other render nodes.
Within your rendering systems, distributed rendering (also known as parallel or network rendering) is performed by the Queue manager. This means it takes the entire rendering job and separates it into separate parts which are then distributed to the individual render nodes for them to complete individually. Once each individual task is completed, the overall image will be rendered. The more render nodes used, the faster the overall rendering.
Here at Render Nodes, we supply a variety of rendering equipment, from a variety of render nodes and rack mounted node cabinets to shelving, cabinets and accessories to build up your rendering workstations. The more computer rendering equipment you use (i.e. the more render nodes) then the faster the overall render process.
Rendering workstations are the overall complete rendering setup, consisting of a computer monitor, a queue manager (which runs off render management software) am one or more render nodes.
